Born From Our Own Van Conversion
About Us: The People Behind HUBBERT HUBBERT is a small family business where personal contact, direct advice and a technical system born from our own van conversion experience come together.
The story of HUBBERT began in 2019 with an Opel Vivaro that Oskar converted together with his son Yannik. The conversion turned out really well, but one thing was annoying in everyday use: the bed had to be rebuilt again and again.
When it became clear in 2021 that Yannik would keep the Vivaro, the next conversion began: a Peugeot Boxer L3H2. Michaela’s request was clear: no swivel seats, a rear seating area and no bed that had to be rebuilt every evening. That left only one real solution: a lift bed.
When looking for a suitable system, Oskar could not find anything that met his technical and practical expectations. So the idea emerged to develop his own lift bed. This idea became the first HUBBERT prototype with stepper motors, trapezoidal spindles, automatic leveling and an early display.
In 2022 and 2023, we attended the Adventure Southside DIY fair with our own conversion. The bed attracted a lot of attention, and people often asked where they could buy it. Over time, it became clear: this custom development could become something more.
In 2024, we decided to take the next step with HUBBERT. Once it was clear that the prototype would become a real product, we rethought the construction from the ground up. The goal was a system that works precisely from a technical point of view while being as easy to install as possible.
The programming was also completely rebuilt. This allowed us to implement operation, leveling, safety and future extensions in a cleaner way. The official starting point was Adventure Southside 2024. Since then, we have continued to develop HUBBERT step by step and have reached a very professional level today.
Despite all the technology, personal contact is especially important to us. We are on first-name terms with our customers and support every project directly, honestly and without unnecessary fuss.
What Drives Us
We come from the DIY scene ourselves. That is why we know that a good system does not only have to work technically. It also has to be easy to understand, install and adapt to different ideas.
For us, the focus is a lift bed that is stable at every height, can level itself automatically and can be installed flexibly enough to suit different vehicles and conversion concepts.
The People Behind HUBBERT
Michaela
Michaela is the good soul in the back office. She keeps many things together behind the scenes, takes care of organisation and makes sure that enquiries, coordination and processes come together smoothly.
Yannik
Yannik is now the developer at HUBBERT and takes care of the programming. A large part of the system’s intelligence is in the software, the control system and the functions around leveling, safety and operation.
Oskar
Customer Support & Advice
Oskar is mainly responsible for customer support. He clarifies the vehicle, interior height, bed position, motor position and special requests with you, so that the right HUBBERT variant is created in the end.
For DIYers and Professional Builders
HUBBERT is aimed at people who plan their conversion consciously and are looking for a flexible solution. The system can be planned as a longitudinal bed or transverse bed, in panel vans as well as living cabins, GRP cabins and expedition vehicles.
More and more professional builders are also approaching us. We are happy about that, because this is exactly where our strength lies: taking technical details seriously, checking dimension situations and finding a clean solution together.
