How HUBBERT Works

The System in One Sentence

Electrically Adjustable and Self-Leveling

Stepper motors move the lift bed in a controlled way via trapezoidal spindles. This allows the bed to travel precisely to defined heights and compensate for vehicle tilt by leveling the bed.

Stable Guidance

Four guide rods are permanently installed. Two crossbars support the bed surface and form the stable bed support.

Individually Adaptable

Size and installation position are configured to suit the vehicle, interior height, bed position and conversion concept.

The Technical Principle

How HUBBERT works: The electric lift bed combines guided mechanics, stepper motors, trapezoidal spindles and automatic leveling into a flexible system for camper conversions.

Stepper Motors and Trapezoidal Spindles

The lifting movement is driven by stepper motors and trapezoidal spindles. The motors allow precise control and the system runs fully synchronized. The self-locking trapezoidal spindles transfer the force mechanically and reliably.

Control Board

The control system runs via a circuit board and can optionally be supplied plug and play with a preconfigured cable set. Operation takes place via a modern touch display. The board connects motors, limit switches and controls. Optical limit switches allow the system to recognize safe reference points.

Comfort Functions in the Touch Display

The modern touch display gives clear access to saved heights, leveling and other comfort functions. This keeps the system easy and safe to use in everyday life.

Dark Mode

Comfortable operation in low light, for example in the evening or at night in the vehicle.

PIN Assignment

Limit switches, motors, voltage, temperature and leveling sensor can be checked.

Four Programmable Heights

HUBBERT can store four heights with centimetre precision. Typical everyday positions can be reached directly, such as sleeping position, sitting position, storage position or travel position.

Sleeping

HUBBERT first moves to the selected height and then levels the bed in that position if required. This means the system does not level in a general position first, but exactly where the bed will be used.

Sitting

More headroom below the bed and better use of open space concepts.

Storage

The bed can be positioned to create space underneath for luggage, bicycles, motorbikes or conversion components.

Leveling: Sleep Level on an Uneven Pitch

During leveling, HUBBERT can compensate for different heights. The bed first moves to the desired sleeping or use position and then levels itself, even when the vehicle is not perfectly even.

It is important that the bed is not tensioned during leveling. Thanks to the structural degrees of freedom, the system cannot jam while leveling. That is why length compensation is built into the design.

How Length Compensation Works

In one direction, the crossbars provide the compensation: two square tubes slide into each other. In the other direction, the bed can move on the crossbars through cut-outs in the bed frame.

Stable in Every Height

HUBBERT is not only stable in the upper or lower end position. Thanks to the guide rods, crossbars, fully synchronized movement and self-locking trapezoidal spindles, the bed remains load-bearing and controlled even at intermediate heights.

Fail-Safe Operation and Service-Friendly Design

Emergency Operation via Battery Pack

In an emergency, the control system can be powered by a simple battery pack with adapter.

Modular Board

Drivers and Teensy can be replaced easily if required.

Robust Motors

NEMA 23 motors in industrial quality provide robust and reliable movement.

Manual Emergency Movement

Technical Data and Individual Consultation

Technical data is available for all HUBBERT models. During the consultation, we check together whether the dimensions fit your vehicle and conversion, or whether a special solution makes sense.

You do not have to define the right technical solution alone. We look together at vehicle model, interior height, bed position, motor position, accessories and possible special cases.

Of course, individual consultation and individual manufacturing are included in the price at no extra charge.
